One of the most enjoyable jobs in the world of Teddy Bear making is creating a special Memory Bear to help bring comfort after the loss of a loved one.
Keepsake Bears can also help to remind us of a certain point in our lives. If could be a bear made from baby clothes that your kids have grown out of, or a school uniform, sports kit or wedding day clothes and colours.
Here at Clumsy Bears we can make our adorable memory bears and keepsake bears in three different sizes:
small (30cm standing/ 22cm sitting)
medium (36cm standing/ 26cm sitting)
large (40cm standing/ 32cm sitting)
The smallest one is an ideal size to sit on a shelf or on the corner of a dressing table or chest of drawers. The medium and large bear are ready for a cuddle and will sit well on a chair or a bed perhaps.
The best part of making the bears is handing them over and delivering them once complete and seeing the joy and comfort that they bring, there really is nothing quite like it.
When choosing the type of clothes that you would like the bear made from, the bigger the bear, the more items we may need. Most types of fabrics are fine to use but if you are unsure, you can always check with us first.
If you would like some personalised embroidery, we will be happy to confirm exactly what we can and cannot fit on the bears, the smaller the bear, the less room there is on the paw pads, however we can also do an embroidered patch to add the the front and/ or back. Please contact us to discuss further.
We use plastic saftey joints and eyes for all our memory/keepsake bears and they are stuffed with polyester stuffing. As the bears are made from clothing and other bespoke fabrics, we are unable to CE/ UKCA test and must therefore advise that the bears are not suitable for children under 14. All patterns are designed by Marcia Hastings @Clumsy Bears.
